Hacks by
francey
I was really disappointed by LJ's template customization abilities, especially for those who don't have paid accounts. Since I know a bit of CSS, I thought I'd take it upon myself to help those who don't really know any CSS/(x)HTML. Well, no, not really, I just do this because it's fun.
If you take/use a Hack, comment on the entry, so that I can see my work in use. Also, please put some sort of credit in your bio/userpage, so if other people want to use a LJ hack, they know where to find it.
Right now, you can hotlink images from me, however, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you don't, since I can't promise that the images won't get lost on the wonderful thing that is the world wide web. If for some reason I no longer can host the images, I won't send the images to you. You'll just get lovely red X's on your LJ. At the very least, save the images to your harddrive so that you'll have a backup.
General instructions (for more specific ones, check on the entry itself):
1. Switch to the S1 Style system (on your customize journal page).
2. Make sure that all the page templates (friends, entries, calendar, etc...) are set to Magazine. I mostly make hacks for Magazine, since that is the only S1 style that uses <div>'s instead of tables.
3. At the very bottom, where it says "Style Overrides", paste everything that is in the textarea, into this box. Absolutely everything. If you've decided to host your own images, replace my image URL's with yours.
And that's it. Sometime later, I'll post instructions here on how to host your own images.
